The APEEE has the following main functions:
- to maintain relations between pupils' parents and the School authorities, the Board of Governors recognising for each School an Association which is representative of pupils' parents.
- the organisation of school transport, canteen/cafeteria and extracurricular activities for school's students in school's premises.
Through the APEEE, parents are represented on various school bodies, committees and working groups both for educational and school matters and for the running of services summarised below:

BOARD OF GOVERNORS
The governing body of all European Schools is composed of the Heads of EU delegations appointed by the Ministers of Education of each of the EU countries, together with the representatives of the EU Commission, the European Patent Office, the Directors, the teachers and the Parents’ Associations represented by Interparents.The mandate of the Board of Governors covers all educational, administrative and financial matters and is represented by the Secretary General.
SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD
Chaired by the Secretary General of the European Schools and attended inter alia by the Director of the school and elected teachers’ representatives.Deals with matters concerning the management and administration of the schools, drafting & supervision of the budget, overseeing all aspects of day-to-day life in the school and ensuring its efficient functioning.
CENTRAL ENROLMENT AUTHORITY
The APEEE participates in the Central Enrolment Authority (CEA) meetings, chaired by the office of the Secretary General of the European Schools.SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL

Forms a framework of cooperation between the school and APEEE in regards to joint projects pertaining to the school.
This committee consists of the President and Treasurer of the APEEE, as well as the School Director and the Deputy Director for Administration.
