European Schools Brussels Swimming Team - ESB OCTOPUS - invitation to students for trial competition June 10th at CERIA Pool

As you may know the European Schools of Brussels have a sports team representing all the European Schools in Brussels.
We are very proud of our swimming competition team, which has existed for more than 30 years. It gives the students of the European schools in Brussels an excellent opportunity to compete together independently of which school they attend, and this in both individual races and in teams.
We emphasize both a family and a competition spirit. At the EEB1 60 years school party this weekend, we had the pleasure of meeting some of the swimmers, who were with the team decades ago.
We swim within the EFSL, the European Forces Swimming League, against teams spread over most of Western Europe at the NATO and American bases. This allows us to travel and for example, as we did in February 2018, participating in the EFSL Championship at the Olympic Pool in London, where our 27 qualified swimmers came back with 26 medals in total. In addition, meeting with other teams at a competition is an extremely valuable cultural and social exchange, where we are proud of representing the European Schools of Brussels.
We are a non-profit organisation and administration wise under the EEB1 CESAME. In the coming season, it will be our turn to organise the EFSL Championship, which will take place on March 2-3, 2019 at the Olympic Pool in Eindhoven.

We are looking forward to this, although the organisation will demand a significant amount of work from especially the ESB parents. The running of the team is based on volunteering. In preparation for the coming season and to welcome new swimmers, we are organising a small trial competition at the CERIA pool in Anderlecht on June 10th. We would be grateful if you could share the attached invitation for the competition with all the parents of your schools – and if possible early this week. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to come back to us at our team mail.
