The Canteen office is on the first floor of the Athena building, in front of the main refectory.
The office is open to students from 10:30 am to 2 pm.
APEEE has exclusive competence for the Canteen service.
The daily operation is ensured by the APEEE's Canteen administrative and kitchen staff.
A dedicated Canteen Working Group, made up of parent representatives (Board Members) is responsible for the oversight of the service.
The daily menu is availble every morning from 11 am on the APEEE website, on the Canteen homepage.
The Canteen also provides the menu for the month, available on the Menu of the Month page.
A Canteen lunch typically consists of a soup or a selection of fresh vegetables, a main dish, and a dessert. Bread and water are also available.
For Nursery and Primary students, the soup or fresh vegetables are served to their table.
Secondary students can help themselves to soup or fresh vegetables in the four self-service bars available.
The main dish is served at the start of the service, and dessert is served 10 minutes before the end of the service.
In general, the Canteen aims to offer simple, non-sophisticated meals, with separation of components (meat/side-dish/vegetables), with very limited presence of deep fried and pre-processed food, and limited amount of salt.
Traditional foods and recipes from the language sections represented in the School are available on a regular basis.
The APEEE Food Policy is available on the APEEE website.
In general, the Canteen does its utmost to use seasonal products of local origin, delivered by producers committed to sustainability.
The meat is carefully selected, originating from Belgian producers who practice sustainable breeding and without the use of antibiotics.
A warm meal alternative without meat is available every day ("Green Meal"). This option must be selected when enrolling your child.
The vegetarian menu is updated every week in the Menu of the Month. You can also check the week's food allergens on the Vegetarian Meals of the Week page.
Although the APEEE is very mindful of intolerances and allergies and is studying new avenues, it is not possible, in practice, to cover for specific cases and prepare special meals for individual needs.
Weekly tables of the 14 major food allergens are published every Friday afternoon for the following week, so that parents may anticipate their child's meals and snacks. These are available on the Meals of the Week, Vegetarian Meals of the Week, and Snacks of the Week pages.
We are not able to provide a more detailed list of the ingredients from the Canteen's menu.
You can find the menu on theDaily Menu and Snack and Snacks of the Month pages.
The weekly table of food allergens is available on the Snacks of the Week page.
Enrolment to the Canteen service is done individually for each student, and exclusively through the MyAPEEE platform.
Enrolments must be renewed for each new school year.
The yearly enrolment period is typically open in June for the next school year. The exact dates are communicated to parents by email. New enrolments for the current school year are accepted throughout the year.
Prior payment of the yearly APEEE membership fee (fixed fee per family) is required to access enrolment to any of the APEEE services.
Any change to an enrolment must be requested online via our MyAPEEE plateform.
For more information, please consult the Canteen Enrolment and Costs page.
Parents can enrol their children to the Canteen for a specific amount of days per week (1 to 5), depending on their school timetable.
In the case of a partial enrolment, you must specify the days when your child is enrolled to the Canteen.
It is not possible to enrol your child every second week.
The Canteen service's pricing is set by the APEEE Management Board in May for the next school year. The price is based on the school calendar for each cycle.
The total price varies based on the number of days (per week) for which a student is enrolled to the Canteen. No discount is available.
You can find the prices for the current school year on the Canteen Enrolment & Costs page.

You will receive payment reminders 7 and 3 days before the deadline if you have not yet paid.
Last reminders are sent 3, 7, and 10 days after the deadline if the payment has not yet been received.
Lack of payment will lead to exclusion of the child from the Canteen services until all the fees have been paid. Additional administrative fees will be charged.
The indivuals with parental responsability over your child must manage payment among themselves.
In the case of a late payment, sanctions will be applied in the same way as to any family. It is not the Canteen's purview to determine which party must pay.
It is not possible to enrol your child for alternate weeks. In this case, it is possible that the use of daily tickets would be more to your advantage.
Students who are not regularly enrolled can purchase a daily ticket for a given day.
Canteen daily tickets can be purchase using the online MyAPEEE platform or directly from the Canteen office using their badge (in the case of Secondary students) between 10:30 am and 2 pm.

Changes are possible for fixed days of the week. Any change or cancel request must be submitted using the MyAPEEE plateform.
As of October and for the rest of the school year, any change or cancel request will be taken into account as of the 1st day of the following month.
Exceptionally, change requests resulting from a permanent long-term change in the school timetable will be taken into account with immediate effect, provided that they are submitted at least 5 working days before the requested change.
Any voluntary change to an enrolment entails the payment of an administrative fee, with the exception of changes resulting from a permanent or lasting change to the school timetable.
You can find all the useful information on the Canteen Enrolment & Costs page.
Refunds may be made in the following exceptional cases:
- a) Force majeure relating to School organisation: reimbursement is made to all parents in cases of unforeseen closure of the school for at least five consecutive school days.

For Primary students, a cold lunch is delivered to their class. This cold meal is comprised of a sandwich, a fruit, a dessert, and a juice box.
For Secondary students, the Canteen removes their enrolment for that weekday. The Cafeteria is available for students who wish to purchase a meal before their lesson. If you wish to re-enrol your child for this weekday, you must contact the Canteen office once the learning support classes are over. No administrative fee is charged and the change is applied immediately.
The School regularly communicates an updated list of students in learning support so that the Canteen office may update enrolments as necessary.
In order to allow enrolled students to have a meal, a cold lunch is provided as replacement for all activities authorised by the School administration at least 3 days in advance (eg : exams, meetings, school excursions, sports excursions, etc.).
This cold lunch is comprised of a sandwich, a fruit, a dessert, and a juice box.

On Wednesdays, lunch starts at 11:50 for Nursery students and at 12:50 for the rest of the students (extracurricular activities or OIB garderie/APPS).
Nursery and Primary students eat together with their classmates in the refectory, including students with packed lunches ("tartinists"), supervised by their class teacher or a school supervisor. There are designated seating areas for each class.
Enrolled Secondary students enter the refectory on their own in free flow, separated into three groups, following their school timetable (S1-S3 and S4/S6 in 6th period and S5/S7 in 7th period). Students must scan their electronic badge at the access terminals or produce a daily ticket to enter the refectory. Supervision in the refectory is ensured by two school supervisors.
No, enrolment to the garderie/APPS on Wednesdays already includes the lunch provided by the Canteen.
Nursery students eat with their class before going to the OIB garderie/APPS, but lunch is still included as part of the OIB enrolment.
Only Nursery students have this option, as they eat with their class at 11:50 am, so well before the bus departure (1 pm).
For Primary and Secondary students, it is not possible to have a warm meal on Wednesdays if they have to take the bus to go home.
Secondary students are able to purchase a sandwich or snacks from the Cafeteria, which is open until 2:30 pm on Wednesdays.
Yes. Students enrolled to an APEEE extracurricular activity can eat in the Canteen, provided they are enrolled on Wednesdays.
APEEE staff supervises the meal then guides the children to their activity meet-up point.
The badge allows Secondary students to go through the access terminals at the entrance of the Canteen on the days for which they are enrolled.
The badge is also the only payment method used in the Cafeteria. For this purpose, money can be loaded or "charged" onto the badge using online transfers through MyNetPay.
More information can be found on the Electronic Badge page.
Each Secondary student enrolled to the Canteen receives a badge when they are first enrolled, in exchange for a small deposit. Future S1 students each receive a badge in P5, towards the end of the school year.
Secondary students who are not enrolled to the Canteen can request a badge via MyAPEEE. A deposit is required.
In order for them to still be able to eat in the Canteen, your child can request a ticket from the Canteen office on the day. A student can request up to 3 replacement tickets per term. On the 4th request, a new badge must be requested.
It is also possible to generate a QR code through the MyNetPay app, which can be scanned on access terminal 4. Given the School's recent policy on mobile devices, only the older Secondary students are able to make use of this option.
It is very important to report the loss of the badge to the Canteen office as soon as it is noticed, so that the money on the badge is not spent by thrid parties.
Please note that a lost badge will be deactivated, and a new badge must be requested using MyAPEEE so that access to the Canteen is available once more.
You can load money onto the badge online, using MyNetPay.
Login information for online transfers to the badge are available upon request to the Canteen office.
The Cafeteria offers a selection of snacks and sandwiches. More information can be found on the Cafeteria page.
The Cafeteria is available to Secondary students and School staff.
The Cafeteria is a break area for Secondary students and is therefore freely accessible.
In order to be able to use the Cafeteria services, families who have paid their annual APEEE Ixelles membership fee can request a badge from the MyAPEEE platform, from the "Badge" tab in their child's profile. Each badge is assigned by name to a student.
Any purchase must be paid using a personal electronic badge, delivered by the Canteen office. Each badge is linked to a personal account, onto which money can be transferred through online bank transfers (made using MyNetPay).
Cash and card payments are not accepted by the Cafeteria.
Parents of students who are not enrolled in the Canteen can request a badge via MyAPEEE.
The badge keeps track of its activities. This is not detailed enough to know exactly what purchases have been made, but still allows a view of the different transactions that have been made throughout the school year.
This information is available in the "Badge" tab of you child's profile on the MyAPEEE platform.
Parents who wish to share a meal with their child in the Canteen can send a request by email to the Canteen office, at least one open day in advance.
Parents are invited to visit the Canteen and eat a free lunch with their children once per term, or up to three times per school year and per family (provided the student is enrolled).
The badge used by Secondary students allows parents to check the dates at which their child has entered the Canteen. This information is available in the "Badge" tab of your child's profile, in the MyAPEEE platform.
Nursery and Primary students eat their lunch with their class in the Canteen refectory each day.
