A better internet for children – Tools and valuable information
Children and the internet – how can we protect them from specific dangers while providing them with a positive experience? Here are some useful tools and information:
The Better Internet for Kids portal provides information, guidance and resources on better internet issues from the joint Insafe-INHOPE network of Safer Internet Centres in Europe, and other key stakeholders.
The Webwise website (Safer Internet Centre Ireland) offers free advice, information and free education resources addressing a range of internet safety issues and concerns.
And last but not least, here is the link to the recording of the session organised by the Cyber Aware team to mark Safer Internet Day 2024. The event aimed to enlighten and empower adults campaigning for a safer digital world, by providing useful tips on how to help children detect and prevent dangers related to internet navigation.
Speakers: Roberto Barcellan (Moderator, Head of Unit DIGIT.S.1), Manuela Martra (Deputy Head of Unit DG CNECT.G.3), Hans Mertens (European Schoolnet/Better internet for Kids), Jane McGarrigle (Webwise), Merlin Rastoder (BEE SECURE, Safer Internet Centre Luxembourg)
