We have the pleasure to inform you that our school's CanSat team has successfully gotten through to the semifinals of the 2018 CanSat Belgium competition organized by the European Space Agency. Our students are proud to represent our school in one of the most important and prestigious high-school STEM competitions in the world.

Our team is called DORA and is composed of six S6 students under the guidance of Mr Theocharopoulos, Physics teacher. The students who belong to this team are:

-Filippos Stuer, S6ELB

-Anirudhh Ramesh, S6ENA

-Alkis Abazis, S6ELA

-Marianna Piperigou, S6ENA

-Anthi Anna Kemou, S6ELA

- Jakub Korycki, S6NLA

DORA Team plans to make a can-sized satellite which, if they become one of the 12 teams to pass the semi-finals, will be sent up using a model rocket, perform measurements and send these to a ground station. Their mission, put shortly, is to measure atmospheric conditions and to use this data in conjunction with a machine learning algorithm (a subset of Artificial Intelligence) to determine how suitable the planet is for harboring life and terraformation.
