APEEE Transport - Update of seating plans and safety rules on all school buses

Dear parents,

In the course of next week, the APEEE Office and the bus monitors will update the seating plans on all bus lines (MA / DA / DB / ME). The exercise will be repeated in the week of 26/4, only for the S pupils that will have classes in situ then.

It is of utmost importance to ensure that the fixed seating plans are accurate and followed scrupulously on a daily basis. Those plans constitute the basis for the COVID-19 tracing of those pupils sitting in a high-risk zone on the bus, entailing inter alia a preventive quarantine from school (see separate APEEE communication on this point).

The fixed seating plans are set on the basis of the following rules:

  1. Pupils are seated in three designated zones, corresponding to the three educational levels (MAT / P / S). No exceptions will be granted. If possible, one row will remain free between each zone.
  2. Siblings will continue to be seated together. If siblings belong to different educational levels, they will be placed at the last row of the zone of the younger sibling.
  3. Pupils maintain always the same seat on each bus line.

The COVID-19 situation does not allow for any changes to the normal bus schedule of pupils, in order to ensure that only the children taking a certain bus are those registered in the respective seating plan. Similarly, no bus tickets will be sold during this period.

We take this opportunity to remind you that:

  1. Face masks are compulsory for all pupils and for the entire duration of the journey.
  2. All school buses are cleaned before every service and disinfected daily; the APEEE Office monitors closely the application of this rule by the bus companies.
  3. Maximum ventilation will be ensured also during the bus journey till the end of the school year.
  4. Hand disinfection is very important before boarding the school bus and upon arrival to school!

We kindly ask you to discuss these rules with your children and explain, in particular, the need to maintain a fixed seating on the bus under the instructions of the bus monitors.

Kind regards,

APEEE Transport
