Enrolments 2021 / 2022 open from 11 to 29 January

Enrolments for the 2021/2022 school year are open from 11 to 29 January 2021.

 

How to enrol

Please note that:

·       Parents in post on 31 December 2020 must submit the application during the first phase (11 to 29 January 2021).

·       Parents taking up their posts as from 1 January 2021 can submit the application during the first or second phase.

·       Pupils are admitted to the nursery school at the beginning of the school year in the calendar year in which the child reaches four years of age (i.e. for the 2021/2022 year, children born in 2017).

·       Pupils are admitted to primary year 1 at the beginning of the school year in the calendar year in which the child reaches six years of age(i.e. for the 2021/2022 year, children born in 2015).

·       Children who attend the school during the 2020/2021 school year will be enrolled automatically for the 2021/2022 school year.

·       Children in the final year of the nursery school who meet the age requirement will be enrolled automatically for the first year of the primary school.

·       You can get the required GSC certificate concerning parents' employment status (annex 1) via Sysper (Rights & Privileges / Request administrative certificates / Certificate for European Schools).

·       The enrolment forms (in English and French) – with all the documents required – must be handed in or sent by post (regular mail, registered letter or express mail) to the secretariat of the school corresponding to the first preference specified on the enrolment form.

 

It is important to note that the European Schools are not international schools where parents can choose the language in which their children are educated. A fundamental principle of the European Schools is the teaching of the mother tongue or dominant language as first language. This principle implies the pupil's enrolment in the section of his/her mother tongue or dominant language, where such a section exists.

To help guide parents through the enrolment process, the Parents' Association of the European Crèches and Garderies in Brussels (AdP) is organising a virtual information meeting, on Friday 8 January 2021 at 12.30. Representatives of the administration of the European Schools and the presidents of the Parents' Associations will be present to answer questions on issues such as choice of school and  language section, available places, procedures, etc.
